Authentication labels that anyone can verify with a phone

An authentication label proves a product is genuine. A tamper-evident label only shows it hasn't been opened. Ennabel™ authentication labels carry an invisible cryptographic signature inside the label artwork. Consumers, distributors and inspectors scan it with any smartphone camera and get a verdict in about 2.3 seconds, with no app to install.

Product packaging with security label

What is an authentication label?

A QR code anyone can scan. An encryption nobody can copy.

An authentication label is a security label that lets someone confirm, at the point of sale or use, that a product is genuine. Common types use holograms, special inks, serial numbers or QR codes. Many of these can be copied: a QR code is just an image, and a hologram can be imitated well enough to fool a buyer. The strongest authentication labels carry a feature that can't be copied and that anyone can check without special equipment.

QR code authentication labels: why the QR alone isn't enough

QR code authentication labels: why the QR alone isn't enough

Ennabel™ shows a visible QR code, which is easy for consumers to find. But the QR isn't the security. Anyone can photograph and reprint a QR code, and a copied code takes the buyer to the same verification page. The protection is the invisible signature in the label artwork around the code, which a copier can't reproduce.

Common questions

A tamper-evident label shows whether a pack has been opened. An authentication label proves whether the product is genuine. Ennabel™ does both.

No. Any smartphone camera works.

They can copy the look, but not the invisible signature. A copied label fails verification.

To let buyers, distributors and inspectors confirm a product is genuine before they sell, fit or use it, and to show the brand where suspect products appear.

No minimum commitment. Pricing falls with volume.
